Simple Trick That Can Help You Reduce Age Spots

Age spot vary in size and they are small flat dark or brown areas on the skin. They usually appear on areas exposed to the sun, such as hands, face, arms and shoulder. Age spots are also called liver spots or sunspots. They can also occur as a result of excess production of melanin, pigment responsible for skin colour. Here are a  list of natural remedies that can help you fade age spots.

1.     Honey and Potatoes

Both Honey and Potatoes are rich in vitamin C, potatoes has antioxidants properties that protects the skin from damage. It has bleaching properties that lighten your skin and treat age spots. This combination rejuvenates your skin. Take one potato and one tea spoon of honey. Grate the potato and add honey then mix to create a paste. Apply the mixture on the affected area and rinse after 15 minutes.

2.     Turmeric and milk paste

Turmeric and milk paste is an effective  ingredient that help prevent signs of ageing, heal your skin and treat acne and age spots. Milk exfoliates your skin to remove dry, dull and aid in getting rid of dark spots. On the other hand, turmeric has anti microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties which help lightening dark spots and improve overall skin tone. Take one tea spoon of turmeric powder and two tea spoons of milk. Add 1 tea spoon of lemon juice, mix to create a paste and apply on the affected area and rinse after 20 minutes.

3.     Castor Oil

The omega 3 fatty acids in castor oil help your skin stay hydrated and skin tissues stimulated hence repairing skin discoloration. Antioxidants in castor oil prevents your skin from free radicles thus treating spots and blemishes. Dip a piece of cotton into the oil and apply on the affected areas .Rinse after 30 minutes.

4.     Onion and Apple Cider vinegar.

Both are essential in treating age spots. Onions contains antibacterial properties that help maintain healthy skin, antioxidant that help remove impurities, dead skin cells and age spots .Apple cider vinegar contains antioxidants properties vital for preventing ageing and contains alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates dead cells and treat age spots. Mix 1 table spoon of onion juice with ½ table spoon of apple cider vinegar. Apply the mixture on the affected area and rinse after 15 minutes. Finish it off using a moisturizer of your choice.

5.     Tomato

Tomato juice contains natural astringent properties which helps to shrink open pores caused by acne and clear blemishes. Lycopene in tomatoes acts as a natural bleaching agent that helps lighten stubborn age spots. Rubbing a tomato on your skin can do the trick and remember to rinse off after 15 minutes.
