Menstrual cramps is one of the pains that many women may face monthly during their period days.This is due to hormonal imbalances in their bodies.Here are some of the many ways that one can reduce the pain from menstrual cramps.
Improve one’s diet.
Women are adviced to take the low fat diet and lots of vegetables.This would otherwise reduce the menstrual cramps.They are adviced to consume good quality fats which would otherwise include nuts and fish.
Massaging one’s skin with essential oils.
Study has shown that certain essential oils such as Clary sage volatile oil and lavender volatile oil when rubbed on once’s lower abdomen during period days will reduce the pain due to menstrual cramps.Hence,women are adviced to massage their abdomen with the essential oils to reduce the pain .
Trying out some yoga poses.
Study has shown that doing yoga exercises such as relaxing and stretching of one’s muscles helps in reducing period pain.The uterus contains muscles thus,anything that may help in relaxing or stretching of the muscles would reduce the pain got from menstrual cramps.
Increase consumption of magnesium in one’s diet.
Women during their period days are adviced to eat foods rich in magnesium since it helps in reducing the pain in their lower abdomen.Such foods may include spinach,yoghurt,almonds and black beans.
Drinking of herbal tea.
Herbal tea such as Peppermint and Chamomile are recommended for consumption when one is experiencing menstrual cramps since they are said to be calming to the body.Hence one is advised to consume the tea rich is ginger and herbal to reduce the pain.
