Natural Ways To Get Rid Of Dark Elbows And Knees

Most people want to have an even skin tone especially when it comes to the knees, elbows and knuckles. However, this is not always the case for everyone since these parts having a distinct color from the rest of the body. This happens because the skin around the knees and elbows is usually thicker and has many folds hence tend to be less oily. Nevertheless, research has shown that use of natural lightening remedies can help in getting rid dark elbows and knees.

Below are natural ways of getting rid of dark elbows and knees.


Lemon has bleaching and exfoliating properties which help in acquiring of an even skin tone. It also contains a high amount of vitamin C which helps in removal of dead skin cells as well as regenerate ones. To use it on the skin, apply lemon juice on the elbows and knees. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water. Repeat this procedure for a couple of weeks to get effective results.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has moisturizing properties which keep the skin hydrated. It also has a high amount of vitamin E which helps in lightening of the skin tone. To use it on the skin, mix one tea spoonful of coconut oil with a half teaspoonful of lemon juice. Rub it on the elbows and knees and and wipe it off after 15 minutes. For effective results, repeat the procedure for two weeks.


Homemade sugar scrub is excellent when it comes to skin tone lightening especially on elbows and knees. It exfoliates and softens the skin as well as removal of of dead skin cells. To use it on the skin, mix sugar and olive oil and massage it on the elbows and knees for five minutes. Repeat the procedure for two weeks for effective results.
