Rehema Muthamia is the new Miss England 2021. Rehema won the award in Coventry and will represent England at the Miss World pageant next December. This makes TWO Kenyan women strutting in the world competition. The other is our own Miss Kenya, Sharon Obara.
Although she resides in England, her roots are Kenyan and she grew up here before settling in England. The 25-year-old also won the “Miss All African Colors” category. The Miss All African Colors category was created to increase the representation of women from ethnic minorities in the competition and this is what gave it the impetus to clinch the Miss England final.
In her acceptance speech, Rehema told the audience that her family in Kenya is proud of her success in the competition. She also revealed that she survived an abusive relationship, which motivated her to enter the contest. She hopes to use her leading role to help other women who are trapped in abusive relationships.
