Tips on how you can whiten your teeth with this simple ingredients at home

The cost of whitening your teeth is currently Ksh2000 per tooth, which is a sum that the average Kenyan cannot afford. Having an award-winning grin, on the other hand, shouldn't cost an arm and a leg because all you need are a few common household materials.

1. Tumeric

Turmeric powder is not only helpful for teeth whitening, but it also helps to prevent gum inflammation and periodontitis. Brush your teeth with a toothbrush dipped in a teaspoon of turmeric. Brush your teeth as you would usually. Your mouth may turn yellow, and the earthy flavor may take some getting used to. Brush it with your regular toothpaste after rinsing it out thoroughly.

Why does it work?

Turmeric, unlike other teeth whitening techniques, does not harm the enamel. It isn't abrasive, and its pH isn't acidic. After a week of using it twice a day, the results are obvious.

2. Activated charcoal

Yes, this black material will stain your mouth black, and you will panic for a minute or two, thinking you have been duped into ruining your mouth forever. After cleaning your teeth, though, you will notice that your smile is noticeably brighter.

Why does it work?

Activated charcoal is porous and has a tendency to adhere to chemicals that stain teeth, such as tannins. Activated charcoal has been demonstrated to aid in the maintenance of a healthy pH in the mouth, preventing dangerous germs and cavities.

3. Oil pulling

This procedure comprises swishing a natural oil for a few minutes in your mouth. The oil draws all of the bacteria out of your mouth, leaving your teeth cleaner, healthier, and, most importantly, whiter. Coconut, olive, and sesame oils are all recommended.

Why does it work?

The oil will take out any staining agents from your teeth, which will then be spit out.

You should also avoid or minimize your consumption of soda, coffee, tea, and cigarettes, in addition to these whitening treatments.
