Mukuru slum is one of the largest slums in the city of Nairobi that is reported to face serious environmental pollution. The rate at which pollution is taking place in Mukuru slums is alarming.
According to relevant source of information shared by Ma3Route today, a lot of raw sewage and other dangerous waste materials are reported to have been spotted floating in a river which flows from Mukuru towards Ruai areas of Nairobi city.
In the short video clip shared, alot of plastic materials can be seen in the river. A heap of solid waste materials can be seen beside the river.

The level of environmental degradation in Mukuru needs to be checked by relevant authorities including the National Environmental Management Agency (NEMA) since the waste materials in Mukuru slum is posting a great health problem to residents of Mukuru and it's environs. The pollution can lead to outbreak of killer water-born diseases including Typhoid.
