A Sigh of Relief to Aquaculture Farmers as the Cabinet Secretary Made the Following Statement

Blue economy has become a major concern to our environment.exploitation of natural resources by human activity has become a major threat to our environment, scaling it down to fishing in lake Victoria in the next ten years we are likely to experience the extinction of fish species.

Kenyan government with the corporation of IFAD have started rolling out mechanisms of how this serious menace could be engulfed.This sorts of effort have been experienced in regions around lake Victoria that is Migori county, Homabay county and kisumu county.

In Homabay county,fish farming have started in places such us Suba South as well as suba North.In Suba south fish caging is practiced in areas a long the lake that is Kimoro beach,Kinda beach,Rasira beach, Nyandiwa beach and Mikuyu beach.Fish farming is also practiced in regions not nearby lake region but are capable of getting water from river,ponds,dams and many other sources.These regions includes; Magunga,Kirambo and Kitawa.

Fish farming under leadership of senior officer Mr.Philip Opiyo Suba South with corporation of leadership of IFAD have managed to provide farmers with the pond liners, fingerlings as well as civic education of fish rearing.Kenyan government is not also left behind in making effort of helping farmers put more effort in farming to realize the backbone of economy.This is when Hon cabinet secretary for education encouraged tutors from Tom Mboya college in Homabay county,to pit more emphasis on aquaculture education.
