Residents Blame Ruto After His Ranch Manager's Actions Led To The Death of 1300 Animals Last Night

The Deputy President is no stranger when it comes to land controversy around the country. Being a businessman and a farmer, Ruto has often clashed with locals for example during the infamous incident at Langata primary school in 2016.

In recent months, the Deputy President has been forced to intervene after Taveta locals complained about a decision by Ruto's ranch manager to block water canals that were taking water to Mata. 

The county government intervened and warned the ranch manager against the move. Earlier today area residents have again taken to the media to complain about the death of their animals after they were swept by floods last night. 

According to locals, the floods were a result of the blocking of the canals by Ruto's manager. Over 1300 Animals died from the floods last night and now locals are calling on relevant authorities to intervene on their behalf.
