Hospital waste materials from various health facilities in Kakamega county will now be recycled and insinuated into other useful substances.
Addressing at Kakamega general hospital after the official handing over of the microwave equipment to the health attendants Prof.Philip Kutima, the deputy governor of Kakamega said that the national government through the ministry of health procured the plant from Belgium through the government of Kakamega County so as to maintain proper disposal of waste matters.

"The warehouse was set up by the assistance of the county government consuming Ksh 25 million. And it's a processing plant that would have been set up in the year 2014 but due to lack of enough stability in the finance sector we had to fully prepare before importing it", stated the deputy governor.
The preparations were made by commissioning one operator who thereby is said to lead others in the well running up of the machine. Continued Prof.Kutima.

"We have five biomedical practitioners and seven public officers. The training was facilitated by the supply of the machine and focussed on maintenance aspects ", Kutima explained.
Similarly, he now says that as a county they have already ordered more of them which will help to pump oxygen at high pressure and produce 1000litres of the gas per minute which also helps serve nearing counties.
"Another unit has just been confirmed at the port of Mombasa and it will be arriving soon", said Kutima.
At that particular moment, the deputy governor has requested the rightful convey of information to the public as he went cautioning some of the news sources that misled the public some few days ago.
"We are not asking patients to bring oxygen cylinders at the general hospital as it was written", said the deputy governor of Kakamega.
