Since time immemorial, many people and especially Kenyans have been scammed and conned in different scenarios that one cannot even imagine. Con games that have recently hit the air are 'Wash Wash' and 'Pata Potea' con games.
On an investigation carried out by the Standard Media journalist, one lady identified as Elizabeth Mwikali narrated how she was washed Ksh.5000 by 'Pata Potea' fraudsters. As Mwikali walked in the streets of Muthurwa, a pen was dropped and was asked to pick it. Unknowingly, she picked the pen and as she tried to give the said people, she was surprised with Ksh. 200 by the same people who told her that they were giving out free money because it was a school opening seasons. Mwikali however thanked them. Unfortunately as the saying goes, nothing comes for free, she tried to leave and as if no one minded about her, they grabbed her bag and took all the money that was present in her bag.
Kenyans have however come out to narrate other scenarios under which con games found them;
@Isaac Monics; I was conned 1500 pale Muthurwa in 2019.
@Listone Oloch: This thing reminds me how I lost my 50 bob forcing me to walk stroll up to town.
@Mwaniki Erickson Muriuki; I got robbed on my way to OTC from bus station by the same people. I will never forget their faces but they work in conjunction with police and city council.
