The County government of Nairobi has promised to pay ksh 2500 for every Kenyan who will plant a tree. According to governor Johnson Sakaja, Kenyans who will play trees and maintain them will recieve a token of ksh 2500 per week from the county government. Sakaja clarified that the county government will come up with a tree planting programme to facilitate the planting of enough tree. Sakaja's tree planting plan is targeted on securing the trees in the country. His plans involves a weekly payment to Kenyans who will be required to work for four days a week.
Sakaja has been advocating for job opportunities creation to Kenyans and his move proves his intention. Kenyans have reacted to his plan to employ a number of Kenyans to plant trees. According to a number of Kenyans, Sakaja's move should be embraced country wide to protect our environment and eliminate drought. His move should be emulated by other county governments to empower unemployed Kenyans to preserve our forests and trees.
