Thousands of victims of wildlife attacks in the country are seeking compensation for the injuries sustained during strikes by animals from national parks and game reserves.
Irene Wambua Mbithe, one of those whose lives were shattered when she was attacked by hyenas,
recounts that she lost her arm,and eye in a horrible hyena attack after truck drivers threw her out of their vehicle at Tsavo National Park in the dead of the night.
Four years down the line,Mbithe is hoping for compensation from KWS.
John Mutunga, the medical officer at the Machakos Level 5 Hospital said Mbithe suffered severe bodily injuries.
Kenyans reacts:
π»ππππ: Women, stop taking lifts from random stranger in random cars. This habit has cost so many women their lives.
ππππ: I watched her and she said someone very known to people aired Her story but the contribution didn't reach Her because the host gave out Her own personal number.
πΉππππ: I am so sorry, so so sorry. Hyenas are sadistic, they attack and start eating an animal while STILL ALIVE! I cannot imagine the pain she went through. A quick recovery to her and hopefully KWS will compensate her.
