Mama Rachel Ruto and CS Soipan Tuya Arrive in Western Kenya In Style Ahead Of Tree Planting Program

The First Lady of the Republic of Kenya Her Excellency Mama Rachael Ruto accompanied by Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary, Soipan Tuya arrive at Kakamega county. ahead of a tree-growing program.

From the reports, The First Lady through her environmental and climate change initiative intends to adopt 200 hectares of Kakamega Forest. The initiative is aimed at building knowledge on environmental conservation, offering protection, and increasing forest cover by discouraging deforestation.

The head of State, Dr. William Ruto has announced that his administration will spearhead the growing of five Billion trees in his five years term to combat Climate Change which has become a great global challenge.

The President looks forward to meeting his policy of having 10 billion trees grown in the next course of ten years.

Perhaps, the National forest cover staggering at below 8% is a clear indication that Kenya needs an urgent reaction to change the approach to fixing the environment.

However, Rachel Ruto's initiative is aimed at building knowledge around environmental conservation, offering protection, and increasing forest cover by discouraging deforestation and encouraging people to plant more trees.
