Meet Senior KWS Game Warden Who Took Former US First Lady Melanie Trump For a Ride in The Nairobi National Park

Kenya Wildlife Service is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife. KWS conserves and manages national parks, wildlife conservation areas, and sanctuaries under its jurisdiction.

Nelly Palmeris joined KWS 18 years ago as a graduate trainee. Paramilitary training followed sooner because part of her job entailed managing game rangers.

She was appointed Assistant Warden, Tsavo National Park and promoted to be in charge of the Hell's Gate National Park before graduating to Nairobi National Park Senior Warden.

As the senior warden of Nairobi National Park, Palmeris was privileged to guide former US First Lady Melania Trump when she toured the park.

She was also in charge of Nairobi National Park when a lion strayed from the park into Langata road.

Palmeris joined Mpala Research Centre as Deputy Director and Chief Operations Officer. Her job as Deputy Director is to ensure that the wheels are rolling, supervising day-to-day operations including staff, welfare, finances, resources and research.
