Have you ever asked yourself why you get bitten by mosquitoes alot than your friends around you? In this article we are going to see the reasons behind this and some of the natural affordable products that you can use to prevent this.

The answer to the first question I asked is very simple, you are a mosquito magnet. This means that, your skin might be either producing sweat that the specific mosquitoes around that area like or your natural body scent is too strong to attract them.

Now with that simple explanation in the the pocket, I want to assure you that there's nothing to worry about your susceptibility since science has never stopped looking for answers. And in this article, I want us to go through some of the natural scientifically proven products that can repel mosquitoes both in your house and on your skin.

1. Lemon eucalyptus oil Lemon eucalyptus oil- is a popular oil that has been used in parts of Australia and has been proven to be effective for mosquito control. Recently, the centre of disease control (CDC) also confirmed that this solution provides upto 95% protection against mosquitoes. The only disadvantage is, it's has a short term interval of protection and so you have to keep on applying after 2 to 3 hours.

Make this solution at home by mixing 1 tea spoon full of lemon eucalyptus oil to 5 ounces of sunflower oil. Apply the mixture gently on the skin. Do not apply on children less than 3 years of age, safety hasn't been established.

2. Lavender oil lavender oil can be locally produced from lavender flowers that you have in your outdoor flower pot. Research done by the university of Florida confirms that lavender oil has some antiseptic, antifungal and analgesic properties which can calm and sooth your skin.

You can make this solution by crushing the raw lavender flowers and decant the oil. Mix this oil in small portion of water, ratio 5:1 and then spray it to a piece of cloth and hang it in the house. You can also apply it on the skin areas where mosquitoes love to bite e.g ankles and hands.

3. Soy bean oilsoy bean oil has been proven to be the best oil for mosquito repellent product and with the long lasting effects over the applied areas. It has also been effective against all mosquito species which makes it the best natural product.

You can make this at home by crushing soy bean seeds with little water in it to produce the oil. Mix this oil in ratio 1:1 with lemon juice for maximum protection and apply it on the skin.

4. Tea tree oilit is a fact that mosquitoes like bushy areas to breed but have never used a tea plantation area for this purpose. This is also true when it comes to people who work in tea farms having no complains about mosquitoes bites while at work. The explanation behind all these is simple and that is because tea tree oil is a mosquito repellent.

The research done to confirm this finding also filed that the tea tree oil has some antiseptic, antimicrobial and antiinflammatory properties that can help reduce mosquito bite are symptoms.

Note but: some of these essential oils are not safe to apply them directly onto your skin. To avoid this, mix them with carrier oil (almond oil) to lessen these concentrations.

Also ensure you get your essential oils from reputable sellers since these products are no regulated by food and drugs association.
