The First Lady of the Republic of Kenya Mama Rachel Ruto today will be conducting a tree growing exercise in Kakamega County. She will be doing the exercise alongside with Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary, Hon Soipan Tuya.
"The First Lady of the Republic of Kenya Mama Rachel Ruto accompanied by Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary, Hon Soipan Tuya arrive at the Kakamega Airstrip ahead of a tree growing exercise in the County", Ministry of Environment and Forestry Kenya.
She has an initiative which intends to adopt 200 hectares of Kakamega Forest. The initiative is aimed at building knowledge on environmental conservation, offering protection and increasing the forest cover by discouraging deforestation.
