How Israel Is Forcing Clouds To Produce Rainfall On Desert

According to JFW magazine, cloud seeding is a type of weather modification that aims to change the amount or type of precipitation that falls from clouds. It is achieved by altering microphysical processes within the cloud. Condensation nuclei are added to the atmosphere to provide a base for raindrops to form.

There are three different types of cloud seeding methods: static, dynamic and hygroscopic. Static cloud seeding is achieved by scattering silver iodide into clouds. The moisture in the clouds condenses around the molecules and become heavy. Dynamic cloud seeding involves the injection of many large silver iodide crystals to produce glaciation that yields more rain. Hygroscopic seeding involves the use of sodium chloride to attract water droplets.

Cloud seeding help to increase mountain snowpack and rain thus helping in keeping the area fertile and hydrated for farming purpose. It is used to manage dangerous weather like storms that cause mass destruction. It is done in specific areas like airports to remove fogs thus increasing visibility.

Seeding requires the use of chemicals that are potentially harmful to the natural environment thus putting people at great risk. Wind may push away seeded clouds to a different location and is only successful when done on orographic clouds. Israel has been accused by its neighbours of stealing their clouds.

Chemicals may be dispersed by aircraft or by dispersion devices on the ground. Planes and drones fly through the inflow of a cloud while anti-aircraft guns or rockets are used to fire particles into the air. It is then carried upward by air currents.
