Mixed Reactions After Esther Passaris Defends Millicent Omanga Over Yesterday's Stand Off in Kisii

Jubilee's nominated Senator Millicent Omanga yesterday joined MPs Simba Arati and Sylvanus Osoro who were ejected from the podium during the burial of the father to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.

According to pictures and videos shared online, Millicent Omanga was moving to grab the microphone from Governor James Ongwae after which she was escorted out of the podium.

On Tuesday, Nairobi's Woman Representative Esther Passaris through her Twitter account criticized how Omanga was handled and called for respect to women.

" I am deeply appalled and would like to condemn in the strongest terms possible the manner in which Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga was manhandled yesterday in Kisii..." her post read in part.

Her post attracted mixed reactions, here some of them;

@mzee_wa_kijiji: Lol, but she is here on Tweeter celebrating the experience.

@RobertKiberenge: You should first condemn what she did . You are our women rep but on this one I disagree with you.

@alfkib: This is the conversation we need.

@gideon_badiva: We condemn kabisa.

@OnyiegoAsher: I agree with you .. She must respect herself too and you must agree with me as well,, cause apparently you know what she is and stands for.

@KorirRo67421297: There are many things that we must revisit about this BBI, why is it creating enmity instead of creating loves, friendship, harmony.

@guru_voke: Nonsense, playing gender card as usual.
