A Rift Valley PS has escaped humiliation and shame of being arrested for physically assaulting his pregnant wife after a court order was issued barring the DPP from taking further action on the same. The PS at the state department of youth Julius Korir can thus breathe a sigh of relief until the matter is resolved.
Korir had been accused of battering his pregnant wife Ms. Everlyne Koech leading to her admission. He was also accused of infidelity which Ms. Koech reported when she filed for divorce.
The matter was reported at Hardy police station in Karen with OB number 40/20/11/2018. As reported by People's Daily a P3 form signed by the government surgeon in the police headquarters confirmed that Ms. Koech had sustained thorax and abdomen injuries.
High court judge Charo Mrima while issuing the orders stopped DPP from trailing the PS and police from arresting him."Pending the hearing and determination of the application before me, I restrain the DPP and police from taking any further actions against Korir," Mrima ordered
The order is a blow to the estranged wife and children, the PS is also accused of neglecting his children.
