Sometimes when group work doesn’t seem to be working, musicians or artists resort to going it all alone as solo artists. Well for some it has worked, while for some of them it turned drastic. I will highlight some of the artists who became big after quitting the bands.
Moji Short baba
Moji was formerly of Kelele takatifu, a duo who used to be the big thing in the gospel industry some time back. However Moji quit the band and decided to go solo. For him, it worked. He is now one of the big names in the gospel industry.
Aslay was part of the boy band ‘’ Yamoto band from Tanzania. They were one of the biggest bands in the region but then decided to go separate ways one day. Aslay is one of the best musicians in Tanzania currently.
The ‘Tamu’ hitmaker is one of the finest musician in the East African region. He was also part of the former Yamoto band from Tanzania.
Benzema is a Kenyan gengetone musician who was formerly of the ‘’Ochunglo’’ family. The group decided to go separate ways, but the musician has continued to do a lot of hit collaborations.
