As Catherine Kasavuli battled cervical cancer at the Kenyatta National Hospital, she had support from family and colleagues. Before her death, Kasavuli had worked as a news anchor since 1980's in Kenya's top media stations including Citizen tv, KTN and recently worked in Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). Kenyans continue to mourn her as the sent comfort messages to her family and friends through social media platforms. 
Today, a touching Video showing how the news anchor Tom Mboya played for her the guitar while while singing a song for her at Kenyatta National Hospital resurfaced online. According to a video shared by the Standard digital on Facebook, Tom cheered as he sang and laughed with her.
