Remember Waridi & Tahidi High Actor Barbara? This is What She's Doing 17 Years Later

Many people remember Barbara Chepkoech for her cast roles in Citizen TV's Waridi and Tahidi Hig, the latter which made her a household name in Kenya's entertainment industry at the time. Waridi was a popular TV show on Citizen TV in 2006, at the time the station was just starting to gain momentum and trying to compete with established media houses like NTV and KTN.

The younger generation probably first came across her as part of the initial cast of Tahidi High. This pioneer cast starred names like Pierra Makena, Omosh, Shirleen Wangari, Abel Mutua and Dennis Mugo also known as OJ. Seventeen years later, this is how life turned out for Barbara.

Barbara was born on May 10, in the early 1990s and had a difficult childhood. In a 2008 interview with Nation, she chronicled of how her parents always had problems Sadly, her mum passed in in 1997 when she was still young, forcing her to strengthen her bond with her dad.

''In primary school, I went to over 12 schools because we kept on moving from one place to another. In high school, I went to Kericho Tea, which is now a boy school. I have not gone to college yet,'' she said.

After her roles on TV, Barbara seemed to exit the entertainment scene and settled down for a quiet family life. Her husband is not known to many, and she prefers it that way. She gave birth to her firstborn daughter in Kenya before relocating to the US sometime before 2015, when she delivered twins thereafter. In 2015, after the birth of her twins, she opened up that her water broke while she was shopping in the market.

She is also a singer and has released several songs. In 2022, she revealed that she is gearing up for something different, the release of her music.

In May 2022, she rolled out a show called Threesome that brought together mothers to talk about their experiences with pregnancy and childbirth. She frequently travels to Kenya but has always maintained a low profile and is conservative on social media.
