“My Cousin Knew I was In Prison But Told No One, Man Narrates How He Was Betrayed By His Own Blood

There is nothing painful than betrayal especially when it comes directly from family and loved ones. This situation is similar to one Francis Veli, a Kenyan twitter user who took to social media to narrate on how he was betrayed by his favorite cousin after trusting him with his ATM card to bail him out only for him to disappear leaving him locked up in prison for five months.

Without disclosing why he was arrested, Veli stated that he was once arrested in Karen and taken to Kibera law courts where he was fined Ksh 9,000 or face a six months jail term in prison. According to Veli, he had money in his bank account and decided to call his closest cousin to go and withdraw the money in order to bail him out since he could not have done it by himself.

However, after giving his cousin his ATM card, PIN number and fare to go and withdraw the money, Veli revealed that was the last time he ever heard from his cousin again something that forced him to be transferred to Industrial Area Prison to serve his jail term.

On arriving at the prison, Veli recalled how he was forced to shave his afro hair which he loved so much and even slept hungry that day given that they arrived in prison late when supper had already been served. According to Veli, he kept praying and hoping that his cousin will turn up and bail him out but unfortunately he never showed up.

After five months in prison, Veli was lucky enough to be released. However, he disclosed that all the time while he was in prison no one from his family knew his whereabouts apart from his cousin who chose to be silent after squandering his money.

Veli, went ahead narrating on how he was forced to start afresh through the help of his friend who offered him his house after his former landlord confiscated his belongings due to rent arrears while he was in prison. However, he revealed that he forgave his cousin and he has never discussed with him about the betrayal.

Veli went ahead thanking his friend for helping him to start over again and applauded those men who are kind enough to help out their fellow men who are struggling to put their life together without judging them.
