Willie Garsons, a Popular Actor has Passed Away

Entertainer Willie Garson, who played the adored buddy to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City," has passed on. He was 57 years old.

A representative for HBO/HBO Max affirmed the news to USA TODAY.

"Willie Garson was throughout everyday life, like on-screen, gave companion and a splendid light for everybody in his universe," the assertion peruses. "He made one of the most adored characters from the HBO pantheon and was our relative for almost 25 years. We are profoundly disheartened to learn of his passing and stretch out our earnest sympathies to his family and friends and family."

The entertainer, who took off to popularity assuming the part of Carrie Bradshaw's best male companion and comrade Stanford Blatch in the broadly cherished HBO series, was regarded by co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall.

Nixon recalled that him as "a wellspring of light and companionship," and said that everybody on set "revered" working close by him, while Cattrall said his passing was a "horribly miserable misfortune."

HBO honored the entertainer in a tweet that portrayed him as one of its most "adored characters."
