Judith Nyambura Mwangi popularly known as Avril or theaviway on Instagram is a Kenyan musician who has been in the music industry for 17 years.
Avril started singing when she was a second year student at the Nairobi University. Her first hit song was Chokoza.
On a show hosted by Ala C on his YouTube channel 'Reke Ciume Na Ene,' Avril opened up on the struggles of being a celebrity.
'If you take some of the comments seriously you will fall into depression.' She recalls one time when she released a song that she had put so much effort on, so much money was spent on the project and instead of the hater simply skipping the song, he went ahead and asked if Avril still sings. 'Wewe huwa unaimba bado?'
Avril also went up to add that her life was not a secret but it's private.
People tell her that she should behave well since she is a role model and so much young people look up to her. Avril stated that she is still human and she makes mistakes and if you feel inspired by her you should only emulate what you feel is right and leave the rest.
'I did not start my music career in order for someone to copy my behaviors, I became an artist out of passion. If I do something to inspire you please take that one and leave the rest out.'
