I Accepted my disability and did something about it-Meet the Woman who warmed Churchill's heart

Daniel “Churchill” Ndambuki, the most successful Kenyan comedian and Host of the Churchill Show on NTV Kenya, had his heart melted by the confessions of one woman.

Eunice Wanza.

Being the second born in a family of three and physically disabled, Eunice met challenges that she could not control. They were brought up by a single mother, Josephine Ndunge who worked at Nakumatt Supermarket up until it’s closure.

She attended Iviani Deb Primary school in Mtitoandei where she realized that we was not like the other pupils and that made her lose self esteem as she could not play with them.

Her mother transferred her to Masaku School for the Physically Disabled in Machakos Town where she felt safe and that made her determined to change the course of her life.

Eunice completed her secondary education at JTown Thika but sacrificed a college opportunity to her sister, then in secondary school and joined a vocational school later on taking a Telephone Operator and Receptionist Course.

She has made a lot of sacrifices for her family, despite her disability. Darius Wambua, her brother and firstborn(breadwinner) lost his job during the on-set of the Corona Pandemic and in an effort to replicate the love shown to her used donations she collected to buy an electric wheelchair to provide for the immediate financial needs of her family.

Churchill paid her a surprise visit at her home and got to listen to her story. They later on went for a date at Canivore Grounds where they had lunch while Churchill, still the comedian he is,

”Mtu akikubuyia chakula unafaa kukuka ukimwangalia bora asihepe.”

Eunice’s sister, Christine describes her as a wholesome experience.

“Nafanya kazi, nalipwa while Eunice hafanyi kazi but she is a lot of things I am not and different, lovable, inspiring, confident.”

Today Eunice is a TikToker with over 3000 followers and counting and attributes it to the fact that she accepted herself the way she was.

Kama hujajikubali mambo hukua magumu sana”, she encourages many Kenyans out there.
