See What Transpired in the First Year of Marriage of Gospel Artiste Janet Otieno And Her Husband

Many people would agree that among the most beautiful things that God ever ordained is marriage. Marriage can be beautiful when the parties involved are determined to make it work despite the marital challenges that are inevitable in our society. The first year of marriage, in particular, is always a challenging one, with many couples still trying to come to terms with the enormous responsibility and accountability that has just befallen them.

For Janet Otieno, a gospel artist and minister who has been married to Alfred Otieno for 23 years, her first year of marriage had been a "learning curve." When asked about what transpired during her first year of marriage, Janet Otieno explained to Rhawder Kidula (marriage show host) that during this period a lot of learning took place:

She says that before marriage she had been a very quiet person but during her first year she learnt how to talk and express herself. Her first year was met with communication challenges whereby she neither knew how to put across her points nor how to explain herself to her husband in a proper way. All this forced her to learn proper ways of putting across her thoughts. She agrees that when you have a husband as a married woman, one of the things that you've got to learn is how to communicate effectively with your husband.

You can watch Janet Otieno as she narrates what transpired during her first year of marriage with her husband Alfred, between minute 8:22 and 10:00 of this video.

It goes without saying that in marriage, communication is almost everything. There are certain things that always happen between couples and when the offended party doesn't communicate about them, the overall result is quarrels and misunderstandings that if not carefully handled may culminate in divorce. Anything that is not talked about or discussed always pile-up and may cause unbearable pressure in the future.
