She was born in Mexico City on 1st march 1993, but was raised in Kenya. In 2007 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film and African studies and she has already won an Oscar Award.

Kitenge is commonly worn in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Sudan and other African countries .Ankara was originally manufactured by the Dutch for the Indonesian textile market.
Ankara is made of cotton fabric with different vibrant patterns. It is primarily associated with Africa because of its tribal-like patterns and motifs. Different design and colours can be used to reflect local traditions and symbols like culture, marriage and many other ceremonies. Some of the prints in the fabrics could be carrying a message hence they are used as a non-verbal way of communication.
