This information might seem new to many of us but the truth and facts remains that Elizabeth became A queen while in our country Kenya. According to reports, Elizabeth and his husband Duke of Edinburgh, had set on journey to Kenya in the year 1952.At this time Elizabeth was only 25 years old.
After landing in Nairobi, the couple embarked on a 5-day safari through the Aberdare Ranges and decided to settle at Treetops Lodge in Nyeri. The lodge was originally built in 1932 and lies on the trail of a former elephant flight route between the Aberdare Ranges and Mt. Kenya National Park and is strategically located right in front of a natural watering hole and salt lake. During his stay there, Princess Elizabeth's father, King George V, died on February 5, 1952.
