A female police officer has taken to social media to expose her bosses over what she termed as mistreatment and severe case of harassment despite her being pregnant. The incident which happened few weeks ago is said to have resulted in her almost developing a miscarriage due to depression from work related stress.
According to a social media post to popular blogger Edgar Obare whom she confided in, police constable Swaleh Rehma narrated on how she was taken through a rough time by her boss who is the officer commanding Station (OCS) Langata where she was assigned at the reception desk. The OCS summoned her to his office where she was quarreled and castigated in front of other junior officers and members of the public for allegedly being absent from work. Despite a medical note from her doctor, the OCS tore it and threw it right back at her face without any form of remorse.
This according to Rhema was necessitated by her complicated pregnancy and being forced to report to work despite her pregnancy being at 7 months. Her feet started getting swollen forcing her to be admitted to a medical facility in Nairobi. The police officer is crying out to her bosses and Kenyans of goodwill to assist her get justice.
