Celebrated gospel artist Justina Syokau left Netizens furious after issuing an M-Pesa number for them to send monetary gifts to her son.

The singer posted this on her social media, “My son Nixon birthday today... Gift M-Pesa 0729xxxxxx”

Majority of her fans bashed her saying she has valued money above birthday messages and also wondered why she wanted the money from them in the first place.

Some critized Syokau for love of money while others said that it was not good for her to use the son to solicit money from her fans.

Hope Tumaini asked, “Surely!Mpesa!?not even a wish and a prayer? Anyway hbd sweet boy.”

Nisey Nancy commented that everything that happens is an opportunity for her to solicit for funds.

Mwikya J Muinde informed Justina that the information was well received but both birthday and Mpesa can't be in one sentence. This was echoed by another fan identified as Ronie BJ.

Kiragu Kj: Every morning , every noon ,come evening. Chezeni na M-Pesa. Alaaar🤔🤔 Kwani mlizaa mtoto na fans wako ??😆Work hard by yourself and make your son happy by your own sweat.

Francisca Nakor: Happy birthday Nixon...but Syokau why do you love money this much

“Can't you see exactly what is happening to you on social media then trying to get a very innocent child to be part of the insults?” asked William Latiner.

Shiro Otieno: You are overdoing this Mpesa jokes! A time will come when you will really need a till number,God forbid! n nobody will come through! Be adviced

After the online attacks, the singer edited her message to celebrate her son as a blessing and a gift wishing him of God's protection and wisdom.

She also asked those willing to gift Nixon through M-Pesa or send their wishes.

From the comments and personal judgement, Birthday need to be celebrated on personal and family level and not soliciting for gifts from strangers. We need to keep part of our lives private.
