Many netizens were left in shock yesterday after churchill show comedian Jemutai came out to expose her baby daddy Professor Hamo as a deadbeat dad. Jemutai said that Hamo does not support their two children. Jemutai said that life has been hard as she has rent arrears that she has not been able to pay. She called on well-wishers to support her in any way they can.
"My name is Jemutai...I am a comedian and a mother of two. I am a single mother and life is becoming even harder every day. I have lots of rent arrear..." she told Edgar Obare on Instagram.
However, some people felt that there is nothing special about her case as many Kenyans are facing hard economic times yet they are enduring it silently. They told her to look for other means of survival instead of seeking pity from Kenyans who are also suffering.
Here are some of the comments from Facebook.
Muriithi: "Being a single mum is not a disability. I'm also a single father and I'm not nagging my poor fellow Kenyans."
Ben: "Most parents are single mums but they don't broadcast."
Suzzie: "Every man for himself and God for us all...I hope this slogan is well understood and whoever came with it, he or she must be cursed. Meanwhile, all Kenyans are struggling with their day-to-day livings...Hata msijaribu kueka paybill hapa."
Arshley: "This single mother pity party just as to end. There are single fathers out there and we rarely hear them use that card."
