Mark Masai worked for Nation Media Group for more than 14 years, progressing through the ranks to become a senior anchor and one of the most well-known journalists in the nation.
Nevertheless, despite having a fantastic career at the media house, his career came to an end on Wednesday when the Media House announced a significant reorganization that resulted in his dismissal.
After NMG CEO Stephen Gitagama announced a significant reorganization that will see some leave, he was one of the notable editors and big figures in the media sector who were given the boot.
But on Thursday, Masai boldly guaranteed his fans that he will return, despite being fired.
Down but not out! In what appeared to be his final message to viewers, he said.
"I had a great run st Nation and it was time to move on. This is the reality of the media landscape around the world. Unfortunately, I am at the losing end of this one," he added.
He continued by saying that it was still premature to write him and his career off, dropping a hint that he will soon make a comeback on television.
"My career in the media is not over as a result of this. I'll return to other platforms soon. All I can say is to keep an eye on this space."
