The famous and popular secular artist who hails from Kimaya village,Kimaya sub-location,Kongasis ward, Chepalungu constituency,Bomet county in South rift Mr.Paul Langat well known as Subembe has come out and cry to the public for help following his health problem.
The famous artist Mr.Langat is married and blessed with several children.
Mr.Langat's health started deteriorating in 2015,he has been admitted in several Hospital including Tenwek mission hospital in Bomet county.
Subembe who is well known by his popular songs;Tetyo, Catherine among others was recently diagnosed with Kidney failure at Moi teaching and referral hospital -Eldoret,Uasin Gishu county.
According to Mr.Nathan Korir his neighbor and a close friend of Mr.Langat, Subembe is spending Ksh.80,000 monthly for check-ups at Moi referral hospital.
'The cost of his medication is very expensive,Ksh.20,000 by week is not easy to for him raise bearing in mind that he has family to feed,' Mr.Korir said.
Subembe is currently at home,Kimaya village and he is required to go to MTRH on Tuesday,20th April 2021 for check-up.
Mr.Kipkirui Ngeny who comes from Soin-Sigowet constituency in Kericho county urged all the artist of Kenya and the public to come out and help Mr.Langat to get well again so as to continue entertaining Kenyans.
The United Kalenjin of Artist and Musicians Association( UKAMA ) interim chairman Mr.Ngeny called upon South rift leaders intervene and extend their support and prayers to famous artist Subembe.
The fund-drive in aid of Subembe's medication has been scheduled to take place on 30th April 2021 at home ground.
