Popular Kikuyu Singer Threatens to Sue Fellow Artist For Producing Cover Without Consent

Popular Kikuyu gospel music singer Rachael Njeri has threatened to sue Peter Muthui Junior, the founder of Top Drive records.

Rachael says that Peter Muthui recorded a cover of her song 'Nyita na Guoko' and uploaded it on YouTube without seeking permission.

Rachael also said that the song is of poor quality and a disgrace to the original work.

"Am seriously looking for this man who has recorded my song (Nyita na Guoko) without my consent.

If you know him please inbox me. This is illegal and he must face the law. If you know him and love my ministry please get in touch with me. I wish he did it better. I am so annoyed" Wrote Rachel Njeri on Facebook.

The original song by Rachel and pastor Ruth Wamuyu was released 8 months ago and has 217k views on YouTube so far.

The unconsented cover on the other hand has so far garnered 11k views since it was released 6 days ago.
