The younger brother of Njoki Muchemi, the Kenyan woman murdered with her two daughters by her husband in the United States of America, described the murder incident as a shock to the family. According to Moses Muchemi, Njeri and her husband loved and cared for each other.

Last month, they jetted into the country to attend the burial of Njoki's father Geoffrey Migwi Muchemi who was buried on November 12 in Kirinyaga County. Besides attending the burial, they also played a big role in planning and finances.

During their stay in Kenya, everything seemed okay. They appeared as a happy and trusting couple.

"As a family, we are still in shock on what could have transpired. They were such a happy and trusting couple. During their stay here last month, we did not see anything amiss. They loved and cared for each other," Moses said.

Moses said his sister would have told them if she had any troubles. Her husband left her behind and went back to the US with the kids because schools were due. He would communicate with her daily until she later joined them.

"My sister would have told us if she had any troubles. She did not. In fact, Gary left her behind as he went back to the United States because the girls were due for school. He would communicate with her daily until she later joined them, Moses added.
