Ruto's Vocal Ally Arrested As Police Reveals More Details Over Yesterday's Drama

Deputy President William Ruto's Coastal ally, Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip has surrendered to the police after he was accused of being involved in a shooting incident at Kanu Grounds in Nanyuki. The Senator who went missing after a brawl in a bar left a 32 years old woman nursing serious gunshot wounds.

The police received a tip-off on Saturday, 23 from members of the public who reported the shooting in a bar, forcing the police to launch a manhunt for the Senator.

According to the police, the lady identified as Joy Makena who was with the Senator at the Kanu ground in Laikipia County was shot on her right leg, just above her ankle in the 2:20 am incident.

Police officers from the Nanyuki Police station flanked by DCI sleuths and CSI personnel were the first to arrive at the crime scene where two spent cartridges, a firearm and 13 rounds of ammunition were recovered. The woman was rushed to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital for Medica interventions.
