Nicki Minaj Breaks Thirteen-Year-Long Hip-hop Record

Nicki Minaj Breaks Thirteen-Year-Long Hip-hop Record.

Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty (born December 8, 1982), known professionally as Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian-born rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur based in the United States. She is majorly known for her musical versatility, animated flow in her rapping, alter egos, and accents.

Referred to as the "queen of rap", Minaj is already the best-selling female rapper of all time with more than 100 million records sold worldwide.

The 40-year-old is however not showing any signs of slowing down after her latest achievement. According to Chart Data Nicki Minaj is currently the longest-charting female rapper on Billboard Hot 100.

The milestone came after consecutively charting a single on the Hot 100 for 13 years from 2010 to 2023 surpassing the previous holder of the record legendary female rapper Missy Elliot whose 12-year record spans from 1996 to 2008.

The hit song responsible for securing Minaj the record is 'Super Freaky Girl' which peaked at Number 1 back in August 2022 and currently occupies the 51st spot on its 20th consecutive week in the Hot 100 chart.

With no official retirement announcement in sight, the queen of rap is expected to smash as well as create even more Hip-hop records heading into 2024.
