Only a few days after veteran Kenyan actor Maina Olwenya died of a heart condition, the African entertainment industry has been rocked yet again by the death of another South African thespian, Busi Lurayi. The actress who died last night was best known for her role in the Netflix series 'How To Ruin Christmas.'

Among the tributes that drew a lot of attention online was one from Kenyan popular actress Catherine Kamau, who has also appeared on international stages in her acting role. Catherine, better known as Kate Actress, expressed her disappointment on Instagram, writing:
"We're losing one too many. RIP."

So far, the actress's bereaved family has not confirmed the cause of death, only stating that they are awaiting the autopsy. Lurayi's accomplishments include winning the inaugural SA Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Comedy for her role as Phumzile in 2006. May Lurayi's family find comfort during this difficult time.
