"Never Give Up" Kind-hearted Rongai Landlady who Waived Jan Rent Inspires Many with her TBT Photos

Landlady Martha Wanjiru of Rongai, who gained notoriety after canceling January rent for tenants, has inspired many by releasing a picture of her modest origins.

Wanjiru shared an old photo from the time she and her daughter were homeless in Nairobi. The mother and daughter were shown in the photo next to an old car, which was uploaded on Sister She's inspirational Facebook page.

Wanjiru previously revealed how she ended up on the streets after being forcibly ejected from her home at the age of 17 due to being pregnant. "I had to look out for myself. I was forced to live on the streets for about five months where I sold cockroach insecticide to make ends meet since I had nowhere else to go," she claimed.

The second picture showed Wanjiru and her fully grown daughter attending a fair overseas. The pair appeared completely different from the earlier photograph, and the landlady urged her followers not to lose faith.

"Are you considering giving up? Please refrain. I was forced to leave home after becoming pregnant at age 17 and the first picture was taken years ago at that time. I was a homeless person living on the streets of Nairobi with my daughter. One of my lowest points ever was at that time. Despite the difficulties," Wanjiru admitted that she never lost faith in God or in herself.
