Celebrating TV Legend, Catherine Kasavuli

Find Out How She Rose To Fame.

Her broadcasting career kicked off in 1980 (she was barely 18 years old) at the Voice of Kenya (later rebranded to KBC) where she worked as a radio continuity announcer. In 1985 she transitioned to television without any prior training but she went Kenya Institute of Mass Communication after two years for her training. She was part of the team that founded the first privately owned television station in the country KTN in March 1990. She left KTN for Citizen in 2007 after a 17-year stint when she held the position of corporate affairs manager at Royal Media Services which owned Citizen TV.[Photos courtesy]
