Laikipia women representative, Cate Waruguru.
Politicians are among the most successful people whose lifestyles have been an admiration to most Kenyans. Driving big cars and staying in lavish homes is just part of the lifestyle that most young people have been yearning to experience.
Laikipia women representative, Cate Waruguru, is among the few outspoken women leaders from the Mt Kenya region. Cate rised from a nominated MCA to become the second women representative representing the people of Laikipia county. She was known to fight for the plight of youths during her days as the MCA.
Cate came to the limelight during her days in the Tangatanga faction. She was among the leaders who led the deputy president during his tours in the Mt Kenya region. She could at times spit fire to their opponents. Waruguru has never been shy to put her points across.
Waruguru again made headlines after she decamped from Ruto's side to join Uhuru's side. She went ahead to meet Raila Odinga at his Capitol Hill office and begun drumming support for the BBI report and the handshake.
On Tuesday 16, Waruguru joined students of Makutano secondary school in Laikipia county for a motivational talk. Cate used herself as an example to motivate the students where she reflected back at her educational life.
The women representative said that she attended just an unpopular secondary school that she referred as Mariguini. She added that this didn't deter her ambition to achieve great in future. Cate added that her hard work never went unnoticed, after a sponsor came and saw through her college education.
The vocal politician added that her courage and zeal is what made her name and reputation grow among the people. She encouraged the students to follow her steps despite the background they are raised from.
Waruguru also revealed that she has not tired serving the people of Laikipia county, and that she was looking on to defending her seat in future. She disclosed this move amidst speculations that she could vie for a bigger seat.

Cate has kept off from the national politics for a while. This is mostly influenced by sharp divisions across the entire Mt Kenya region where both Kieleweke and Tangatanga have strong roots. She has not been active in the BBI politics.
