RIP: Amount of Money Man Who Died After Going to Popular DJ Fatxo's House Borrowed His Mum (AUDIO)

Police in Kasarani are investigating an incident in which a young man identified Geoffrey Mwathi as ended his life by jumping off from the 10th floor of Redwood apartments opposite USIU.

Geoffrey was at the house of popular DJ Lawrence Njuguna alias DJ Fatxo. The late Geoffrey Mwathi was an interior designer and at the time, DJ Fatxo called him at his house to discuss how he could work for him.

Before going to the house, excited Mwathi called his mom and requested her to send him 200 Kenyan shillings to cater for transport expenses to the DJ's home. After receiving the cash, he sent a WhatsApp Audio message to his mom who was working in Qatar and thanked her. He joked that he was smartly dressed and would take a photo with the DJ.

He met the DJ and sent the video to his mother. They then headed to 4 clubs including Bridge, destiny quiver clubs and another one in Ruiru.

A CCTV footage seen by the police indicated that DJ Fatxo, 3 ladies and Mwathi arrived at the apartments at around 3am in one car. Another man who is a relative to DJ Fatxo arrived in another car. DJ Fatxo then got out of the house alongside the ladies at 4am.

He left Mwathi in the house with two men including DJ Fatxo's cousin. After some time, the two men got out of the house and went downstairs where they surveyed the washroom. They then went up. Exactly 7 minutes later, Mwathi's body was seen going down. His trouser was slightly removed.

Doctors in charge of the postmoterm at City mortuary claimed that they could not determine whether Mwathi had been abused given that 72 hours had already gone.

A CCTV footage showed DJ Fatxo getting back to the apartments at 9am. He looked at the body and held his head in shock before going to his house.

A police report filed by DJ Faxto, his cousin and friend indicated that Mwathi ended his life by jumping off from the window.

The family however insists that Mwathi never had suicidal thoughts. They suspect that there is a plan to tamper with the case. A strange police report indicates that Mwathi had attempted suicide in 2019 but his girlfriend snatched the knife away from him.

However, the family says in 2019, Mwathi sat for his KCSE and stayed with home for some time before he went to Nairobi.

May justice be served.
