Shaffie Weru, Dj Joe Mfalme Apologise Over Mean Comments About A Lady Thrown Off Building

Homeboyz Radio Presenter Shaffie Weru and DJ Joe Mfalme have publicly apologised after making cold-hearted remarks concerning a lady who was thrown off a building by a man she met on Facebook.

On their morning show on Thursday, March 25 DJ Joe Mfalme,Shaffie Weru and Neville Musya engaged in a discussion concerning the 20-year-old Eunice Wangari Wakimbi saying she called for the attack.

Wangari was thrown off the 12th floor of Ambank House by Moses Gatama Njoroge after rejecting his sexual advances.

The two were drinking together on their first date.

The presenters adviced ladies to always play hard to get and be unavailable because being too available will always lead to such attacks.

“Do you think Kenyan women, whether they are dating or not, are too available, too lose, too willing, or too desperate and is that the reason they get themselves in such situations?” Shaffie asked during the show.

Their sentiments landed them in trouble for not criticizing rape.

“I realize and accept that my statements about the unfortunate incident that happened to Eunice were very insensitive and hurtful and could be interpreted by some as encouraging the already ongoing and unacceptable culture of violence against women and girls. I do not, have not and will never condone any form of violence against women and I will do my part to help put an end to it,” Shaffie Weru’s statements read in part.

Dj Joe Mfalme also expressed his regrets over the insensitive remarks and publicly issued a public apology.

“I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Eunice, her family and anyone who has been a victim of Gender based violence for the harm that was caused by my words” read part of DJ Joe Mfalme’s apology.
