Odinga had pitched tent at Kasarani where he drummed up support for his presidential bid.
However, Odinga's move to invite Diamond at his rally has rubbed some Kenyans in the wrong way.
Frustrated Kenyans took to Twitter to air their sentiments.
Dr John Njenga Karugia PhD: "So, no womb of a Kenyan woman has given birth to a Kenyan girl or boy worth singing during Azimio's rally? Chinese engineers build railways and roads. Venezuelans program IEBC. Greece prints ballot papers. Tanzania's Diamond is invited to sing for Kenyans. Buy Kenya Build Kenya!"
"They had to pay diamond Kshs. 51.3 Million tax payers money to help them fill #kasarani stadium." A post on Ruto's fan page read.
Singer Juliani and Comedian Eric Omondi have also reacted sharply accusing Odinga of not being keen in promoting local artists.
