Catherine Kasavuli was interred at her parents' home in Vihiga County on January 14, 2023. A few kilometers from her parents' home, the late news anchor's funeral was held at Nyang'ori Boys High School.
The burial was attended by prominent politicians, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, and legislators Martha Karua and George Wajackoyah. Dr. Ofweneke, a comedian, was the event's master of ceremonies.
Rachel, the mother of Kasavuli, addressed the mourners and praised her daughter as a great, loving, and caring individual. She lavished the new anchor with praise and referred to her as a role model for many. Dr. Ofweneke was requested to address the mourners for a time after Mama Rachel's speeches were interrupted.
"Are you grateful?" Consequently, are you married? The 90-year-old woman's question left mourners in fits of laughter.
The father of three responded by saying, "Yes." Hata nimetoka soko (Yes, I'm married). "My wife resides in Nairobi."
