A 17 years old lady identified as Jackline has opened up about her struggles as a single mother.
Jackie dropped out of school in class 7 because of lack of school fees. After dropping out, she started washing clothes for people alongside her elder sister since her mother had health issues and couldn't work.
One day, Jackie and her sister went to wash clothes in a man's house. Her sister left her behind cleaning windows. Unfortunately, Jackie was defiled by the man. She kept it as a secret until 6 months when the pregnancy started showing.
Her sister was angry at her and didn't give her time to explain anything. By that time, their mother had already relocated to the village.
Her sister threw her out of the house.
Since then, she has been living with a friend. When she tried looking for her child's father, she found out that he had vacated his house.
Jackie now survives by carrying water for people and earns as little as 100 Kenyan shillings per day. Life has been so hard that she sometimes wishes to die together with her baby. Her baby is always sick since their house leaks whenever it rains.
She is appealing to well-wishers to come out and help her.
