Mugithi artist Gathee wa Njeri. [Source/Gathee]
Popular Kikuyu secular musician Gathee wa Njeri has joined politics and will seek an elective post during August 9 general election.
He is seeking to dethrone the incumbent Esther Mwihaki who was elected in a by-election on December 2020 on People's Empowerment Party formerly led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
Gathee says if elected his main focus will be on the improvement of roads, education, heath sector, enhance security and electricity connectivity, and promote talent and sports.
The musician went to Kimathi Secondary School, a mixed day school in Gaturi, where he scored grade A in KCSE.
He proceeded to Kenyatta University for a Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness Management and Trade and graduated with a Second Upper class in 2019.
The fast-rising Mugithi artist behind hits such as Wamunyota, Saitani, Wakua ni Wora, Mwari wa Pastor, among others is currently pursuing Masters in Business at Kenyatta University.
