Renowned CNN reporter Larry Madowo has delivered heartbreaking news about a planned retrenchment of 382 BBC journalists with whom all are his former colleagues.
Larry Madowo has articulated that some of the BBC journalists whom he himself hired will be losing their jobs in the mega retrenchment announced by the United Kingdom based BBC World Service.
The CNN reporter stated that the news of the planned retrenchment of some of his colleagues has left him heartbroken, articulating that it is in deed a sad day for the media business world.
"I'm heartbroken for the 382 former colleagues losing their jobs at the BBC World Service. I'm especially thinking of all the fine journos at BBC Africa, a few of whom I hired and have been proud of their work even after I left. It's a terribly sad day for our business," Larry Madowo stated.
