After her graduation in 2005, Maribe featured in Constant Gardener, a film. She then started working for K24 as a senior political reporter until December 2011. Later on, she reported on political affairs at Kiss TV for one year then landed a job in Citizen TV in 2012. Jacque worked in Citizen till 2019 where she quit after her charges for murder. Engagement and Controversy
All the speculations concerning Jacque’s love life were hushed up after her engagement on 30th June 2018 to Joe Kuria Irungu commonly known as Jowi. The engagement was witnessed by her closest friends including Shix Kapienga. Dennis Itumbi whom she was suspected to be dating congratulated her and many other fans. The happiness was short lived as Jowi was linked as a major suspect to a murder of Monica Nyawira Kimani, 28 years old. The murder is said to have taken place on 19th September 2018 and he was suspected since he had a gunshot wound he could account for and had been seen entering Monica’s house the night of the murder. Jacque was dragged into the case when her story version of how Jowi got the gunshot wound contradicted with his story.
The police said she knew her fiancé had committed the murder and she was protecting him. In addition, a handbag and wallet belonging to Monica were recovered in Maribe’s house. She was refused bail and had to spend 10 days in prison as her name was defamed and dragged through mud concerning the case.
